JASPER, Tenn. (AP) — The reward offered in a Tennessee cold case has been increased to $21,000.

WRCB-TV (http://bit.ly/1EU95Qh) reports in March, Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam offered a $10,000 reward in the 18-year-old murder case of Sean and Donny Goetcheus. The reward currently stands at $21,000.

The Goetcheus brothers were shot and killed in their Chattanooga home in January 1997.

Nearly two decades after their murder, the community is stepping up its efforts to solve the case.

In addition to raising the reward amount, new flyers have gone up in Marion County.

Investigators believe they’re getting closer to finding the killer after new leads have pointed to the Marion County area in recent months.

Anyone with information about the case is urged to call the Cold Case Unit Hotline at (423) 209-7470.
